M&M Chocolate Martini
The M&M Chocolate Martini is rimmed with crushed M&M’s and filled with a chocolate martini that tastes like a boozy version of the popular candy.

Celebrate Halloween (or any candy-themed gathering) with this playful M&M Chocolate Martini. It combines vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur and amaretto with chocolate sauce and milk for a creamy, dessert-like cocktail. The glass rimmed with crushed M&M’s adds color, texture and a nostalgic candy crunch. This recipe is quick to prepare and makes a fun “adult trick-or-treat” drink for parties.

Ingredients
- 2 oz vanilla vodka
- 1 oz coffee liqueur
- 1 oz amaretto
- ½ oz chocolate sauce
- 2 oz milk
- ¼ cup ice cubes
- ¼ cup lemon-lime soda (for rimming)
- ¼ cup M&M’s, crushed (for rim)

Instructions
- Add the vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, amaretto, chocolate sauce, milk and ice to a cocktail shaker.
- Shake vigorously for 15–30 seconds until the mixture is chilled and frothy.
- Place the M&M’s in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy glass until coarsely ground.
- Pour the crushed M&M’s onto a small, rimmed plate. Pour the lemon-lime soda onto a separate rimmed plate.
- Dip the rim of a chilled martini glass into the lemon-lime soda to wet it, then press the rim into the crushed M&M’s to coat evenly.
- Strain the martini mixture from the shaker into the prepared glass and serve immediately.

Notes & Tips
For best results, chill your martini glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before rimming and pouring. Use regular milk or a higher-fat milk for a richer mouthfeel; for a lighter version try a milk alternative such as oat or almond milk, though flavor will vary. If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, add a touch more chocolate sauce or a splash of cream.
When crushing M&M’s, aim for a mixture of fine crumbs and small pieces to create visual interest on the rim and to avoid a completely powdery coating. If you want larger, more colorful pieces on the rim, crush gently so some pieces remain intact. Lemon-lime soda helps the candy adhere and adds a faint citrus fizz that contrasts nicely with the chocolate.
This martini is intended as a single-serve cocktail; scale ingredients up to make a pitcher for a party, mixing the liquid ingredients together and chilling before shaking individual servings with ice to aerate and combine.
Variations
- Nutty Twist: Substitute hazelnut liqueur for amaretto to echo popular chocolate-and-nut candy flavors.
- Chocolate Lover: Add ½ oz of chocolate liqueur or replace chocolate sauce with a high-quality chocolate syrup for a deeper cocoa profile.
- Fruit & Candy: Swap the lemon-lime soda for a splash of orange soda for a candy-like citrus kick and to pair with multicolored rims.
Serving & Pairing
Serve the M&M Chocolate Martini as a dessert cocktail after a meal or as a festive drink at Halloween gatherings. Pair it with light bites—such as salted nuts or a small cheese plate—to balance the sweetness. For a themed dessert table, offer a variety of candy martinis so guests can sample different candy-inspired cocktails.
